Overview of Scuba Course & NAUI. Confirmation of Schedule. Administrative (Those forms & things) Session 1: Air vs Water. Our senses in diving. So we aren't fish - "faking it". Dive equipment (Why this stuff & hands-on familiarity.) Communications. |
| Water Work 1:
Watermanship evaluation (What can you do already?). Basic snorkel skills & surface BC use. Initial scuba gear use & FUN |
| Session 2:
Pressure Concept (Diving distortions). Our bodies & scuba diving (part 1 - the "Oh, No's") |
| Water Work 2:
Neutral buoyancy & trim achievement (being a "real" diver) . Con'tscuba use ("Hey, we're good."). Entries & Exits (Inies & Outies) |
| Session 3:
Our bodies & diving (part 2 - those "Weird" gases). Introduction to Dive Tables |
| Water Work 3: Boat diving simulation
What to expect. Use of lines/ropes. Air Sharing techniques & Assists/Rescues intro |
| Water Work (optional as needed):
Skills enhancements, etc. (or) Skills not covered due to previous time constraints |
| Session 4:
Air consumption concepts & Surface Air Consumption as a tool. Accident Management, Rescues & Assists. Divers Alert Network. Dive planning. What to expect on the open water dives. |

Personal SAC calculations. The Environment ("Wows & Worries.") U/W navigation (Staying oriented) |
